PETER MADORIN

Peter Madorin is a lawyer practicing in association with Amaral Mendes LLP.
Peter has over 58 years of civil litigation experience, representing both plaintiffs and defendants, and including numerous attendances in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Divisional Court, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, and various administrative tribunals.
Peter’s practice is restricted to the areas of corporate/commercial disputes, employment law, environmental law, real estate litigation, personal injury claims, and insurance defence. Within the area of insurance defence, his practice is focused on the representation of insurers and the defence of claims brought against municipalities, professionals, hospitals, property owners/occupiers, and insurers themselves.
Peter attended law school at Dalhousie University, and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1964. He practiced with the law firm of Madorin, Snyder LLP, as it is now known, from 1964 to 2022, originally as an associate and, from 1966, as a partner.
Peter was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1979. He was also certified as a Specialist in Civil Litigation by the Law Society of Upper Canada in 1988.
Peter was awarded the Coulter A. Osborne Award for integrity, comity and beneficence in the legal profession by the Waterloo Region Law Association in 2005. He has also been selected for inclusion in “Best Lawyers in Canada” for Kitchener and the Legal Lexpert Dictionary as a leading Insurance Law practitioner by his peers for many years.
Peter is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Ontario Bar Association, and Canadian Defence Lawyers. He was a past director of The Advocates’ Society a sustaining member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and a past trustee of the Waterloo Region Law Association.
Peter is a long-time resident of Waterloo Region.
